Essential EZ Portable Inflatable Bed - Queen - Frontgate Reviews
33 of 34 people found the following review helpful Disappointed, July 29, 2010 By This review is from: Essential EZ Portable Inflatable Bed - Queen - Frontgate (Kitchen) So, as a college student, I figured this would be -great- given I move nearly every year. Well, a little less than a year goes by and one of the tethers inside the mattress goes. There was a small bulge, nothing to worry about. I put it away for the summer and come back three months later. I blow it up, everything seems fine. Then I wake up at 3am with my back against the supports.
Long story short, since I've owned the bed, I've had to patch the bed 10+ times with pool vinyl repair (the patches they give you don't really work), and now nearly half the bed is a lump since all of the little tethers (the things that create the dimples in air mattresses by holding the sides together) keep coming unglued. Quality was not their first concern.
I had never exceeded the 400 lb. limit, nor had anyone jumping onto or on my bed. Complaining to Frontgate, they apologized that it was out of warrantee and that there was nothing they could do for me. (Nope, not even... Read more
20 of 20 people found the following review helpful Great customer service from Frontgate. I wish the mattress was as good., November 27, 2010 By This review is from: Essential EZ Portable Inflatable Bed - Queen - Frontgate (Kitchen) I loved their idea of bed frame with the air mattress.
After 3 weeks, the air started to leak. I thought it was a manufacturing defect so I exchanged it to a new one. The customer service was very prompt and I loved that they pick up the phone until 2AM.
Unfortunately, the second bed started to leak badly again after about 2 weeks. The seam just opened. Both times, the bed was always covered with thick mattress cover and a bed sheet. I do not have any pets. I only weigh 120 pounds. The bed was gently used for less than 1 month both times.
After this, I just decided I could not take any more chances and returned the bed instead of exchanging it. Again, the customer service was very nice and prompt. They were quick sending return label and refunded soon after I sent it back. I felt bad returning it, however, soon after I returned it, I bought an Aero Bed brand air mattress (which was $100 more expensive than this mattress from Frontgate), I soon realized that the quality... 17 of 17 people found the following review helpful EZ Bed - Not worth the price, November 12, 2010 By San Diego Mom "San Diego Mom" (San Diego, CA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Essential EZ Portable Inflatable Bed - Queen - Frontgate (Kitchen) I agree with the previous reviewer. I too bought the queen-size EZ Bed from Frontgate. I like that the bed is up off the ground. It is also nice that the bed has two air chambers, one for each person in the queen-size. However, about a year after it was purchased, the bed started to loose air on one side. At first the leak was slow; however, now the bed is unusable. Since the bed is expensive ($200 for bed plus $100 for sheet set), it is frustrating that the bed didn't last longer. Additionly, for this type of air mattress bed you really need to buy a thick foam pad to cover the cold rubber. I bought a foam pad at Bed Bath & Beyond for a much lower price than that quoted on the Frontgate website. I emailed Frontgate telling them that I was disappointed with the bed, but I never heard back from them.
